Love your heart on Valentine’s Day Published Thursday, 31 January 2013 ‘Love your heart on Valentine’s Day’ and support the British Heart Foundation. This high profile campaign gets off to a flying start in Enfield Town marking February as Heart Month. Thursday 14 February 12noon – 2pm: Town Crier in Enfield Town Announces ‘Heart Month’ in Enfield Town 5.30pm – 6pm: Projection on the Civic Centre: A 7,000 watt projection highlighting Enfield as a heart town will be displayed on the Civic Centre. Two large 8,000 Watts search lights will be visible in the sky for miles around. Enfield Council is asking as many people as possible to ‘Rock up in Red’. Enfield ’s Town Crier Peter Frost will be wearing his traditional red robes and letting everyone know that it is time to look after their hearts. Cllr Christine Hamilton, Enfield’s cabinet member for community well- being and public health, said, “Heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer taking the lives of one in six men and one in nine women – that’s up to 700 deaths a year in Enfield, an average of almost two a day.
“We shall be asking people to support the charity with donations and handing out leaflets with health tips and information.” Louise Parkes, Fundraising Director at the BHF, said: “By organising a ‘Rock up in Red’ event, Enfield residents will be helping us to raise funds in order to continue saving lives.
